I absolutely love these green beans. They are so easy to throw together and everyone loves them, even my husband who doesn’t normally like fresh green beans. We find the Haricots Vert, French skinny green beans, at Sam’s Club. You can use regular fresh green beans.
Garlic Green Beans
1 pound tiny green beans (haricots vert), trimmed
2 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon Salt
2 Tablespoons Sliced or slivered Almonds, if desired
1. In a covered skillet, steam the green beans in about 1 inch of boiling salted water about three minutes or until crisp-tender; drain well.
2. Melt butter with oil in the same skillet over medium-high heat; add garlic and sauté about 1 minute. Add the drained green beans, and salt and sauté 2-3 minutes or until thoroughly heated and coated with the butter and garlic.
3. Add sliced almonds and serve.
**You can use regular fresh green beans just steam until tender.
