I love granola, but I like it simple. Gluten Free Granola is always expensive and it isn’t anything different than regular. My niece gave me this recipe and I just love it. I like to put it into little gift bags and give it to the neighbors for a Christmas gift. I put a tag on it that also has the recipe on it.
2 teaspoons vanilla
1⁄2 Cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons Salt
1 Cup honey
8 Cups Old fashioned Oatmeal
1⁄2 Cup almonds sliced or chopped pecans, optional
1⁄2 Cup Raisins or other dried fruit, optional
In a small bowl combine the vanilla, oil, salt and honey. In another large bowl combine the Oatmeal, and nuts. Pour the honey mixture over the oatmeal. Stir until completely combined. Pour out onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 300 degrees for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes. Remove from oven and add raisins, let cool. Store in a large zip lock bag. Taste great with yogurt and fresh fruit.
*Gluten Free use Gluten Free Oatmeal.
