Garlic Cheese Bread

This is a great bread to serve with spaghetti or lasagna. Super easy, and yet taste amazing.

Garlic Cheese Bread

1 ¼ cup shredded Italian cheese blend 1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese 1/4 cup butter, melted 1 tablespoon sugar 1 egg, beaten 1 cup buttermilk 2 cups flour 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon onion powder 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

Preheat the oven to 350° and spray a 9×5 bread loaf pan with non-stick spray. Mix cheese in a small bowl and set 1/4 cup of the mixture aside for placing on the top.

In a large bowl, combine butter, sugar, egg, and buttermilk. Mix well.

In another bowl combine the flour, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, baking soda, and baking powder. Add the liquid ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined.

Fold in the cheese (except the 1/4 cup) and spoon into the prepared loaf pan. Smooth the top a bit. Sprinkle the top with remaining 1/4 cup cheese.

Bake 50-55 minutes or until lightly brown on top and toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Could also be placed onto cookie sheets and made as rolls instead of loaf.

Cook for 20 minutes.

*to make gluten free use gluten free flour plus 2 Tablespoons more and use ½ teaspoon xanthium gum mixed in with the dry ingredients. After adding the ingredients together stir for about 3 minutes. Works better as rolls.
