Sausage Bread

This is a fun recipe that you can make for Brunch or Dinner. My cousin’s wife makes this and it disappears like magic. Hope your family will love it too.

Sausage Bread

12 Rhodes Yeast Dinner Rolls, thawed OR 1 loaf of Rhodes Bread Dough, thawed OR you favorite Bread Recipe for 1 loaf 1 pound Spicy Sausage, Cooked and Crumbled 1 cup grated Mozzarella Cheese, or Colby Jack Cheese ½ Cup Chopped Green Olives OR 1/3 cup chopped green onions 1 egg, beaten

Thaw the rolls at room temperature for about 2 hours. Spray counter lightly with non-stick cooking spray. Combine rolls into a ball and roll into a 9×18-inch rectangle.

Cover with plastic wrap and let rest 15 minutes. Remove wrap from dough and spread sausage mixture evenly over dough. Top with mozzarella cheese, and then add chopped olives. Roll up, jelly roll style, starting with a short side. Pinch ends together to seal.

Place in an oil sprayed 9×5-inch bread pan, seam side down. Beat egg and brush over top of loaf. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm area until double in size.

Bake at 350°F for 40 minutes. Open oven and spray with oil spray and add additional cheese on top of the loaf. Bake for another 5 minutes or until cheese on top is melted.

Remove from oven and let cool about 5 minutes and remove from pan. Let cool for at least 10 minutes before eating. Slice and enjoy!
