I love Smores but hate that the chocolate is never melted or when I bite into it my long-awaited marshmallows ooze out the back. I found this awesome Smores Dip recipe. I tried it at home and now I cannot wait to do this while camping in a Dutch Oven. Camping is a great Social Distancing time! I made a single serving by putting some chocolate chips into a small oven proof dish. Microwaved for 30 seconds and then put mini marshmallows on top and put into oven under the broiler. This is going to be a dangerous snack for me. And can I say fresh Strawberries with this was amazing!
Smores Dip
1 package (11.5 oz.) Hershey’s milk chocolate chips
3 Cups Mini Marshmallows or Large marshmallows cut in half
Graham Crackers, Fudge Strip Cookies, Chocolate Covered Graham Crackers, Bananas, or Strawberries for dipping
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Pour chocolate into an 8X8 or 9X9 pan
Bake for 3-4 minutes or until chocolate chips are soften
Sprinkle marshmallows over the chocolate and broil 1-2 minutes or until marshmallows are browned.
Serve IMMEDIATELY with graham crackers, cookies or fruit.
*You can also use ½ Peanut Butter Chips and ½ Milk Chocolate Chips.
** I used Gluten Free Graham crackers.
To make in an Outdoor Dutch Oven. Line a Dutch oven with foil, a 10-inch or 12-inch. Pour in the chocolate chips, heat over a fire for a few minutes. Add the marshmallows and cook for 2-3 minutes with a shovel full of coals from the fire onto the top of the Dutch Oven. Awesome and fun. I would also suggest using heavy duty foil cupcake liners, put into the Dutch Oven. Then there is no mess at all, and everyone gets their own little cup.
