Caprese Skewers

Caprese Salad is one of my favorite simple dishes. It is always crazy expensive

in a restaurant. Which is weird because there are only 4 ingredients. These

Skewers are a great way to serve Caprese as an appetizer for the Super Bowl.

Caprese Skewers

24 grape tomatoes

12 cherry-size fresh mozzarella cheese balls

24 fresh basil leaves

3 Tablespoons of olive oil

1/2 Cup balsamic vinegar,

12 Wooden Skewer about 5 inches long

Add 1/2 cup of balsamic vinegar to a small saucepan and bring it to a boil.

Then, reduce the heat and simmer, stirring often so that the vinegar doesn’t burn.

Simmer until the vinegar thickens and reduces to about ¼ Cup. Watch carefully.

The exact timing will depend on how thick you want your balsamic reduction to

be. Keep in mind that it will continue to thicken as it cools. Set aside.

Thread the Tomatoes on first, add a folded basil leaf, then add a mozzarella

cheese ball, next another folded basil leaf, and then the last grape tomato.

When ready to serve place assembled skewers onto a platter.

Drizzle with the olive oil and then the balsamic vinegar. Serve with napkins as

they can be a bit messy.

Caprese skewers are a perfect appetizer idea, especially for casual gatherings like the Super Bowl. It’s true that restaurants charge a lot for a simple Caprese salad, but in the end, you’re often paying more for the atmosphere and service than the ingredients themselves. For anyone setting up a professional dining space, I’d recommend adding reserved signs to help create that same organized and welcoming vibe guests expect when dining out. Small details like that really make a difference.
